DemoChicks’ winter events included a series of five workshops held at the Northpointe Apartments. We partnered with Success in Challenges’ after-school program to introduce girls to ACE/STEM concepts and hands-on learning activities.

2023 Breaking Barriers
IT’S A DEMOCHRISTMAS
Our holiday event was on December 6, 2022. This was a Zoom event and was our final event of the year. We built Gingerbread tree houses.
DELTA G.E.M.
Delta GEMS event was on 11/19/2022 on location in Long Beach, California. This workshop was for the members of the Delta Academy Program. Ages 11-17. The workshop was about civil engineering and the girls got to build bridges.
DemoChicks at MOLAA 2022
DemoChicks hosted a STEAM summer camp at the Museum of Latin American Art in July. Thirty students had the opportunity to learn about non-traditional career paths and engage in an interactive activity.
Juneteenth Festival – Long Beach

We Knock Barriers Down to Build Girls Up
DemoChicks Breaking Barriers Awards and 2nd Anniversary Celebration
On August 28, 2021, we hosted our first Hybrid Fundraising Event, awarding scholarships to six college students pursuing careers in Architecture, Construction, and Engineering (ACE) fields and recognized five dynamic women leaders in the ACE industry.
There was an in-person reception held at Hotel Maya for our DemoScholars, Breaking Barriers honorees, and sponsors. We also live streamed a portion of the celebration so that our DemoChicks community could join the fun, congratulate our new cohort of DemoScholars, learn more about our dynamic honorees and participate in our unique DemoChicks Experi-Minute that took place during the event.
